Plumbing and gas emergencies need instant response. At MDS Plumbers we understand that and specialise in providing a swift 24/7 service – coming to you no matter the time of day or night.
What do I do if my kitchen is flooding?
The first thing to do is to turn off the mains water supply through the stop cock tap, usually found towards the front of the property or close to the boiler. Once the water stops coming into the house it is easier to concentrate on something else – like giving MDS Plumbers a call!
We will send a qualified plumbing engineer to you immediately to assess the damage and, if possible, repair the problem.
If a repair isn’t possible immediately (due to a lack of supplies in the middle of the night, for example), then our engineer will do everything possible to limit the problem and get the water back on for your use.
If you do find yourself in the unfortunate situation of needing an emergency plumber, please do give us a call and we’ll do everything we can to get you and your family back with hot running water and heating as fast as possible.
What about a gas leak?
If you can, locate and turn off the gas at the mains (close to the gas meter). Make sure you avoid doing anything which might cause a spark, such as turning a light on or off and open doors and windows to improve ventilation.
If you believe the leak is serious and that you are in danger, evacuate the building and immediately call the Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999.
For a more minor leak, give us at MDS Plumbers a call and we will get one of our specialist engineers over to you as soon as possible to assess the situation and undertake repairs.
